Module 4 Reflection

How can technology be used most effectively to support and assess student learning?

Technology can be used to support student learning by giving the students opportunities to expand on or justify their ideas or learning with blogs, wikis, and chat programs. There are also many different technology tools to use to further learning such as using the internet and its' resources.

Technology can be used to assess student learning by creating a power point inserting actions where the students click on the correct answer to a question. A slide will pop up that tells them yes that is right or no, try again. Also, multiple sites offer surveys for students to take that teachers can set up and utilize with any concept.

Module 3 Reflection

This module has helped me think about the impact of the Internet on my students’ learning in the following ways….

I am excited about the possibilities I now have utilizing the internet in my classroom. Of course, with First Grader's, it will be important to teach them about reliable and safe sources, etc. but I am looking forward to all of the wonderful things we can do.

I plan to have a class blog in which the students will post comments on about their learning. I am brainstorming on ways I can use a wiki in the classroom as well.

Overall, I think the internet will help open the student's minds up in ways they had not been before and it will feel now like there are endless possibilities for our research and the direction we take in class and with activities. It will be very exciting!
